The Hungarian Food Bank Association (previously Budapest Food Bank Association) has been giving help to deprived persons living in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg and Hajdú-Bihar counties since 2006. We receive donations to give to 1000 local families at least two times a year. We deeply appreciate their work and tireless search for donations giving us the chance to help people in need of our assistance. Their work is a blessing for our community.
God bless them for their generous assistance.
We send heartfelt thanks for every donation.

The establishment of a food bank in Hungary has been an excellent idea. Its founders continue to demonstrate social sensitivity and profound compassion. The national societies of the Red Cross collaborate with local food banks in many countries around the world. The Hungarian Red Cross has worked together with the Hungarian Food Bank Association to alleviate the hardships of thousands of needy families.
The Hungarian Food Bank Association in appreciation of its service was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Hungarian Red Cross in 2012.

Nestlé makes no compromises on quality. This philosophy guides the selection of our partners and suppliers. The logistic infrastructure and professionalism of the Hungarian Food Bank Association guarantee that our donations are delivered to the needy in time, in the required manner and condition.
Mrs. Sándor Rádi
Káva Municipality - Contact person
I wish to express my regard for the Hungarian Food Bank Association on behalf of the people of Káva, a small village in Pest county because it is great to know that in today’s fast and inhuman world that is potentially the result of people struggling with financial problems, there is an organisation to which people can turn with their problems and they can always help, make people happy and put smiles on the faces of children and adults. This is the personal experience I gained from long years of successful cooperation with the Association.
Nóra L. Ritók
Igazgyöngy Foundation - Director
The number of families and children living in deep poverty and struggling with daily food problems is continuously rising in Hungary. At the same time, customers are encouraged to buy more and more resulting in enormous oversupply of food. The Hungarian Food Bank Association has developed a unique way to address this contradiction and bridge the gap between these two extremes. With their assistance, organisations working to empower these people have the chance to distribute food to people who have restricted access to it. Your work is deeply appreciated.
Salvation Army–House of New Hope - Director
In cooperation with the Hungarian Food Bank Association, we have had the chance to help thousands of deprived persons. I strongly recommend their assistance to those who agree that „Do good and do it well. This is the secret....”
Mrs. Péter Csipák
Fészek Child Protection Association - President, foster parent
The help we receive from the Hungarian Food Bank Association is always consistent, fair and neatly organized that is invaluable for our foster families and the inhabitants of our temporary children’s home. Their committed work helps put a smile on the faces of many children.
Leader of External and Internal Communication
For many years there has been a strategic partnership between Tesco Hungary and Food Bank. Over the years our simple sponsor-beneficiary relationship has developed into a real partnership through which the expertise of Food Bank and the vast knowledge of Tesco staff on commerce, logistics and quality assurance contribute to creating a more conscious and sustainable institutional operation and increasing civil awareness.
OD Partner Kft. - Consultant on Organisational Development
We have been supporting the work of Food Bank since 2009 as a partner organization in organisational development. We believe that the cause Food Bank strives for has profound effect on society and it is admirable how this handful group of people together with volunteers do their duty with all their might. We are happy to contribute and hope that through developing the functioning of the organization and the cooperation of the staff we can make their devoted work more effective and enjoyable.
Arany János Children’s Home - Director
I chose Albert Schweitzer’s words to describe what the Hungarian Food Bank Association does day by day in a completely unselfish manner: ’Seek always to do some good, somewhere... Even if it's a little thing, do something for those that need help, something for which you get no pay but the privilege of doing it’.
